My go to EQs, Dynamics and Modulation!
October 13, 2014
Hey ya'll, here's a list of plugins that I can't live without and make it onto every track.
As always, leave a comment, hit me up with any questions!!1
The J37 plugin was a recent pickup of mine. Again, going with the whole analog characteristics, this can be used on either the Master Bus or an individual channel to either add warmth and color or varying amounts of modulation.
The API 560, with fixed frequencies to adjust, seems like it might be slightly limiting. However, the tonal characteristics it can pull out of something usually makes the difference between a track just sounding good or a track sounding great.
V-EQ4 is something I've started using more often lately. With flexible tone shaping capabilities and a vintage analog warmth, it can really add character and tone without too much modification.
TrueVerb also ends up on almost every layer. It has a very natural and rich reverb without sounding overly processed, or unrealistic.
The S1 Stereo Shuffler is normally used on tracks that sit in the background more, meaning the more subtle layers, such as a drum section that I want to feel louder without actually being louder. This adds a bit of distance and depth and creates a wider stereo image without panning.
The Wave's HDELAY will usually end up on most tracks when I'm trying to add a bit of depth to the sound.
